Unchanged Bangalore bowl first in crunch match
Toss Royal Challengers Bangalore chose to bowl v Deccan Chargers
Royal Challengers Bangalore's Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bowl first in a crunch match against Deccan Chargers. It is a virtual quarter-final for Royal Challengers, who need at least one point to progress to the playoffs and eliminate Chennai Super Kings.
There was speculation that Chris Gayle may sit out due to a hamstring injury, but he was passed fit to play, giving Royal Challengers the chance to field an unchanged line-up. Kumar Sangakkara returned to lead Chargers after missing the previous game. Chris Lynn, the Queensland batsman, sat out to accommodate Sangakkara.
The only incentive for Chargers was to avoid finishing at the bottom. A win here would take them to nine points and leave Pune Warriors as the wooden-spoon holders.
Deccan Chargers: 1 Parthiv Patel (wk), 2 Shikhar Dhawan, 3 Cameron White, 4 Akshath Reddy, 5 Kumar Sangakkara (capt), 6 JP Duminy, 7 A Ashish Reddy, 8 Amit Mishra, 9 Dale Steyn, 10 Manpreet Gony, 11 Veer Pratap Singh
Royal Challengers Bangalore: 1 Tillakaratne Dilshan, 2 Chris Gayle, 3 Virat Kohli (capt), 4 AB de Villiers (wk), 5 Saurabh Tiwary, 6 Mayank Agarwal, 7 R Vinay Kumar, 8 Zaheer Khan, 9 Harshal Patel, 10 Muttiah Muralitharan, 11 Prasanth Parameswaran
